Two new interns, Ahmed Alqurashi and Sarah White, have joined the Innovation Center for the rest of the Fall semester. Both will be working closely with current Graduate Assistants, Derek Drozd and Laura Pulgarin, with projects concerning marketing and social media.
Alqurashi is from Saudi Arabia, graduated with a degree in accounting from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) in 2015 and is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration. He will be working on a marketing project to assist soft-landing client Tax Time Services.
Alqurashi says one of the things he admires about the Innovation Center is its commitment to entrepreneurship and helping business owners succeed. He stated that this opportunity will “encourage [him] to give his best in helping the organization achieve their goals.”
White is from El Paso, TX and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in both marketing and economics at TAMU-CC. She is also a recent graduate of the Disney College Program where she learned and practiced customer service while interacting with a diverse population of guests. She will be working on a marketing and social media project that will assist current incubator clients Access Curriculum Together and FoxP2Go.
White feels grateful and enthusiastic about the chance to put the knowledge she has gained from her classes into practice for real businesses.
“Getting to work with clients and truly make a difference in how their businesses perform is simply incredible, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the semester,” she stated.
The Innovation Center provides internship opportunities every semester to students looking to gain real world experience while working with small businesses and entrepreneurs.
