The Innovation Center and Small Business Development Center Join Forces

October 10, 2014

It was a great night for entrepreneurs on Oct. 9th, 2014! Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Coastal Bend Innovation Center (Innovation Center) and Del Mar College’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) joined forces to bring to the community Entrepreneur Night 2014.

According to the TAMU-CC’s College of Business page, the event “aim[s] to inform small business owners and other entrepreneurs in the Coastal Bend area about opportunities and resources at their disposal.”

During the evening several local entrepreneurs shared their success stores, including C Math is Easy, LLC. STEM Adrenaline and Keylate Solutions.

David Fonseca, Incubator Manager at the Innovation Center, was a guest in an interview featured on KRISTV.com, entitled “Entrepreneur Night Offers Help for Small Businesses,” and he talked briefly about the event and the programs at the Innovation Center: “We are blessed to have a great entrepreneur ecosystem. We collaborate; we collaborate; we collaborate—a lot. And, pretty much, we’re putting everyone that is in entrepreneurship in the community into one place, so you don’t have to walk around and wonder: ‘What is going on?’

In that same interview, Ann Fierova stated, “We want to make sure everybody understands the resources that they have available in this community, and there’s tremendous resources for small business owners and people who want to get into business.”

For Entrepreneur Night 2014, over 90 people attended the event and learned about entrepreneurship resources and opportunities within the community.
