Local Small Businesses Learn About Entrepreneurship Resources

Entrepreneur Night went off without a hitch on May 4, 2016. For the past two years, since its inception in 2014, the event has provided entrepreneurs and small business owners information on the available resources right here in the Coastal Bend.

The event is cohosted by the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center (Innovation Center) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Del Mar College (DMC). This year the event was held on the DMC campus.

In addition to informing entrepreneurs about local resources, Entrepreneur Night was followed by the Small Business Awards. These awards are to recognize local South Texas businesses for their achievements and impact on the Coastal Bend area.

Representative Todd Hunter was the keynote for the evening, preceding the awards show.

In the past, the event included a panel of several successful, local entrepreneurs who gave a brief talk, which was followed by a Q&A. This year Entrepreneur Night offered a Lender’s Panel and Q&A. The Lender’s Panel was designed to answer any question about funding in order to start or expand one’s business.
