On Nov. 19th, 2014 five guests from the University of Texas-Brownsville (UTB) and the University of Texas Pan-American (UTPA) visited the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center (Innovation Center) to learn more about the incubators and the models the center employs for its programs.
Among those who visited the Innovation Center was Dr. Mark Kroll, Dean of the School of Business at UTB, along with Dr. Adam Russell, associate professor and chair of the department of management, marketing and entrepreneurship at UTB and Dr. Pablo Rhi Perez, associate professor in that same department. A professor of management at the UTPA, Dr. Linda Matthews, also visited the center.
The guests were given a presentation highlighting the programs that the Innovation Center offers and were then given a short tour. They were also given a presentation by Dr. Ron George from the Lone Star Unmanned Arial Vehicle initiative that is housed at the Innovation Center.
“You run a first class shop and I am truly appreciative that you shared your knowledge and experience,” stated Simmons in an email to the Director of the Innovation Center, William Cone.
