September 10, 2014

Hispanic Heritage Month is often a time to look back on the Hispanic culture, but what about looking to the future? According to a study done by WalletHub, the future for Hispanic entrepreneurs in Corpus Christi is promising.

According to the WalletHub.com article “2014’s Best and Worst Cities for Hispanic Entrepreneurs,” “Today, Hispanics and Latinos constitute the largest ethnic minority in the U.S…[and are] quickly becoming what USHCC President and CEO Javier Palomarez appropriately described as ‘America’s business future.’”

The study, according to that same article, consisted of “19 key metrics such as Hispanic entrepreneurship rates, corporate tax systems and the share of businesses owned by Hispanics.”

After the study was concluded, it was found that Corpus Christi, Texas was number two in the overall ranking, with a purchasing power rated as a six and a business friendliness ranking of 36.

Corpus Christi beat out other cities such as San Antonio and Fort Worth, Texas, and was the highest ranked Texas city in the study.
