On April 15, 2015 the Center gave a tour of the facility to 25 high school students, who were recipients of the Buc Days Scholarship. A presentation was also given which outlined business incubation and why it matters to the local and global economy.
“The current Buccaneer Commission Scholarship Fund strategy is to reach as many students as possible with scholarship dollars across a wide variety of opportunities – from Welding to Rodeo to Math & Science degrees.”
Of the 25 students who attended, about 90 percent of them stated that they would like to attend Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
On April 20th The Innovation Center presented at the Kiwanis Club’s annual luncheon. During the luncheon the club discussed how business incubators can reach out and assist more entrepreneurs of the community in the region.
According to Kiwanis.org, “[The organization’s] focus [is] on changing the world by serving children, one child and one community at a time.”
The foundation strives to improve the lives of children by making connections with other groups committed to providing them with a world they can thrive in.
The Innovation Center shares this passion by providing opportunities to the best and brightest individuals in Corpus Christi that have an interest in our community.
