Respectively their majors are, business administration, art, finance/accounting and English. Projects are assigned according to the individual’s major, expertise, and previous working experience.
Derek Drozd, a business administration major, stated that, “The extraordinary staff provide an invaluable learning environment where I am continuously offered new opportunities to enhance my skill set.” He will graduate this May 2015.
Thi Nguyen applies her major in art with an emphasis in graphic design to her intern work and plans to graduate in the fall of 2015. She, together with the other 2 graphic designers at the Innovation Center, won several gold awards at the American Advertising Awards.
Another intern, Trang Nguyen who is majoring in finance and accounting said, “I believe that my current experiences with the Innovation Center will play a significant part on my future career path to success.” She is graduating in the Fall of 2015.
A fourth intern, Katelynn Clouse, graduates in Spring 2016 and majors in English. “I am very grateful for the experience I will gain here” she stated, “and also for the chance to apply my knowledge in technical writing and journalism.”
These student interns are nearing completion of degrees and will be able to graduate with experience from the work they’ve done in the center’s real-world professional environment. The internship program also helps to bring fresh ideas from the bright students into routine business practices, thereby assisting employers to explore new and effective ways of doing things in their businesses.
