CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The 2013 Coastal Bend Business Plan Competition is being administrated by the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center and supported by several other area entities involved in economic development.
Visit the Competition website at http://app.pitchburner.com//s1/site//CBBPC/ to see the guidelines, prizes and application process on the website, and also sign up and create an account. The Competition is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to have a great exposure and develop business plans that will build new technology-driven ventures in the Coastal Bend area. The competition is open to start-up businesses and existing businesses as well as students and business people.
The Competition is divided into three-phases. In Phase I interested contestants are required to submit a business plan overview by November 30, 2012. The semifinalists will be selected from the Phase I submissions by January 4, 2013. They will then submit a complete business plan by April 19, 2013 for phase II. Judges will select finalists in phase III by May 13, 2013 and each final contestant must make a personal presentation of the Final Business Plan to a panel of judges on May 20, 2013.
During the presentation each finalist will receive invaluable feedback from the experienced judges. This feedback about the viability of the business plans will provide a catalyst for putting these businesses on the right track for success. The winner of this competition receives a package of local in-kind businesses services designed to help a start-up company and also becomes eligible to enter major competitions such as the Rice Business Plan Competition or University of Texas’ Venture Labs Investment Competition. The winner of the competition will be announced on Wednesday, May 22th at the Ortiz Center at the Business Awards Luncheon.
