Usually “going to the dogs” is seen as something negative but through artful design Maricela Sanchez has created dog crates that are anything but.
According to her business website, maricelasanchez.com, “In 2012, Maricela shifted gears to combine her previous artistic experience with her love of animals and pets to launch her entrepreneurial endeavor—Bespoke Crates & Gates.”
This endeavor has since grown and Sanchez has received recognition in magazines like Luxe Interiors + Design magazine and most recently in Modern Luxury Interiors: Texas.
Modern Luxury, according to their website, is a magazine known to cover the “hottest trends, products and people in the world of architecture and interior design.”
According to the article featuring Sanchez, she launched her business “after years of frustration with uninspiring dog-crate design[s].”
On Sanchez’s website it is stated that the reason she decided to create functional pieces, stemming from her fine art, was to fulfill a design solution within her own home.
